ControlMeister Remote Control works on any Samsung Smart TV from the 2012 models onward. Which model year do you have? You can see that by looking at the middle letter in your model type (on the back of your Samsung TV).
Supported Samsung TVs:
- E = 2012
- F = 2013
- H = 2014
- J = 2015
- K = 2016
- M = 2017
- N = 2018
- R = 2019
- Q = QLED (also supported)
For instance: UE55_E_S8000 = 2012. UE78_H_U8500L = 2014.
Please check if your TV and iPhone or iPad are connected to the same router.
Some Samsung TV models may prompt you to confirm the connection of a new mobile device during first connection. To do this, you will need your factory remote control. When connecting to TV series H and J, you have to enter a PIN code in the app, which is shown on the TV screen
Connection failure between your Samsung TV and the ControlMeister Remote Control app can have several reasons:
- TV is OFF or not connected to a local network
- Incorrect PIN-code was entered during manual connection
- Access of the mobile device to TV is denied. To remove your phone from the list of prohibited devices, please go to Menu → General → External Device Manager → Device Connect Manager.
Text input is only available in the Smart Hub apps which support Samsung keyboard. The keyboard will appear on mobile device screen automatically after you activate the input field on your TV screen. Some services, like Netflix, YouTube and others, have their own keyboards and are not supported by ControlMeister.
Yes, the ControlMeister universal remote control app for Samsung TV is completely free, including premium features like Keyboard and Touchpad.
Turning on via Wi-Fi network is supported by Samsung TVs released in 2016 and later. Earlier models do not support this feature.
